Job Description : A Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) Lead will report directly to the Senior Corporate Safety Manager and provide physical representative and coverage at the project site for the Safety Manager. The SSHO Lead will provide the site project manager safety guidance, advice, monitoring, training, and mishap reporting in the area of responsibility; engage site employees in programs, training, and briefings that ensure safe work practices in the workplace. Selected applicants must be safety-minded and promote a positive safety culture.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Promote and nurture company's safety culture
• Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs
• Practice safe working techniques
• Implement and maintain local, federal, and company health and safety standards
• Establish a cordial and professional relationship with employees and client
• Enforce compliance with all safety regulations with management and workforce
• Standardize health and safety in order to remain consistency
• Identify hazardous waste and provide consultation on proper disposal
• Promote safety initiatives and incentive programs
• Submit daily, weekly, and monthly safety reports and briefing rosters
• Regularly inspect and report concerns for equipment, materials, work processes and procedures, and worksites

Minimum Requirements

• Level 1 SSHO designation or equivalent required
• Current 40-Hour USACE EM385-1-1 or OSHA 30-Hour Construction
• Must be able to communicate well with a diverse workforce
• Proficient with Microsoft WORD applications and various office equipment i.e. printer, copier, cellphone, etc.
• 5 years or more of consecutive safety experience in the last ten years
• 24 hours of cumulative safety training in the past three years
• Qualified and competent to provide competent person and general safety training in-house
• Able to maintain professional safety proficiency
