The RN First Assistant supports surgical procedures by preparing and managing equipment, maintaining sterile environments, and applying infection control and aseptic techniques. This role requires graduation from accredited nursing and RN First Assist programs, relevant certifications, and operating room experience. Description
The RN Surgical First Assistant assists with the preparation and use of equipment, supplies, instruments and environment needed for surgical intervention. The RN Surgical First Assistant sets up and maintains a sterile field and consistently applies principles of infection control, safety and aseptic technique. Compliance with all hospital and department policies/procedures, standards and mission statements is mandatory.
