About the Role Gap Inc.'s B2B & International Commerce division have brought the Gap Inc. iconic brands Gap, Old Navy, Athleta and Banana Republic, to over 70+ countries across Latin America, Asia Pacific, Europe, Africa and the Middle East. The Merchandise Assistant will own and support the pre-season merchandise strategies for the Old Navy Franchise business, driving seasonal product strategies to meet market specific needs. Accountable for delivering annual financial goals, supporting the execution of Franchise Market, and representing Franchise needs in brand milestone meetings. Initiatives include managing franchise exclusives, creating assortment strategies, developing lineplans, and analyzing the business for product recaps, seasonal midsights, and seasonal hindsights. Position will be based in SF HQ and will be part of the Gap Inc Franchise Product team, partnering with Old Navy Global Merchandising, Franchise Planning, Product Operations, Store Experience and Marketing. What You'll Do

  • Ensure franchise merchandising and business systems are properly maintained, checked for accuracy, and changes are made in a timely manner with appropriate followup
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with members of cross-functional teams including internal Franchise team, Global counterparts, and external Franchise accounts
  • Support Market Week and seasonal buy events including selling tool creation, showroom set up, and assist with account presentations
  • Support Merchants with seasonal assortment set up, customer order forms, sizing set up, order pricing
  • Plan and prioritize workload to meet deadlines and increase efficiency; and follow through on any outstanding issues as needed
  • Perform ad-hoc projects that arise to support franchise product team across merchandising and planning
Who You Are
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • 1-2 years Retail/Wholesale experience preferred; merch operations/customer support a plus
  • Strong communication and relationship/team skills with a pro-active approach to responsibilities
  • Strong ability to identify and execute priorities with a sense of urgency and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills to ensure timely and accurate execution of responsibilities
  • Proficient skills in Excel and Outlook with an aptitude for learning new program
