Full-Time | Headquarters | Orlando, Florida
Reports to Director of Operations

About Your Role
As a Fleet Specialist, you will oversee our entire vehicle fleet, including vehicles, equipment, and supplies. You'll be responsible for maintaining fleet efficiency, controlling costs, and ensuring our vehicles are properly maintained and compliant with all regulations. In this position, you are responsible for ensuring compliance with the Department of Transportation (DOT).

What's a Typical Day Look Like?
Your day involves monitoring fleet status and coordinating maintenance schedules. You'll work closely with our warehouse operations team to understand their needs and manage vehicle assignments.

What You'll Do
Your duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Fleet Management: Direct all aspects of fleet operations, including maintenance schedules, DOT compliance, licensing, and registration requirements.
  • Vehicle Lifecycle Management: Oversee the acquisition, maintenance, and eventual disposal of fleet vehicles, optimizing for total cost of ownership.
  • Cost Control: Monitor and analyze fleet operating costs, fuel management, and procurement expenses to identify savings opportunities.
  • Vendor Management: Source and evaluate vendors, negotiate contracts, and maintain relationships to ensure competitive pricing and reliable service.
  • Driver Safety Program: Manage driver qualification files, coordinate required training, and monitor driver performance and compliance.
  • Inventory Planning: Work with operations teams to forecast needs and maintain appropriate inventory levels of frequently purchased items.
  • Data Analysis: Track and analyze fleet metrics, procurement data, and vendor performance to optimize operations and control costs.

What We're Looking For
You combine strong fleet management experience with procurement expertise and analytical skills.
  • You have 3+ years of progressive experience in event operations or a related field
  • You have experience with DOT regulations and compliance requirements
  • You have knowledge of and experience with safety regulations and OSHA requirements
  • You have a strong understanding of the event rental, hospitality, or related industries
  • You are a skilled negotiator and possess excellent communication skills
  • You have strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Youre detail-oriented with strong follow-through
  • You are a data-driven decision maker
  • You have a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
