The Program on Extremisms mission is to advance national dialogue on contemporary extremist movements in the West, with a particular focus on Islamist extremism in the United States. The Program engages in a range of activities, including (a) Organizing events and briefings to establish visibility and mainstream the issue; (b) Building a network of briefed contacts (key targets: executive branch officials, Congressional leaders and key staffers, think-tank and academic experts, law enforcement officials, journalists, and civic advocacy group leaders); Engaging with the news media to become trusted source for media seeking commentary on relevant current events; (d) conducting training for state and local law enforcement and other entities on these issues, and (e) carrying out research on these issues.
The Associate Director , Program on Extremism reports to the Director and provides leadership in the policy efforts for the Program on Extremism and works in partnership with the Director in carrying out the key project activities. The Associate Director leads advocacy and outreach with civic partners and is recognized as a subject matter expert on contemporary extremist movements in the West, with a particular focus on Islamist extremism in the United States. The Associate Director provides policy guidance; assists in the development and implements policies and strategies related to the contemporary extremist movements; and oversee the day-to-day operations of the office.
Performs other work-related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
$94,200.05 - $183,513.91
This position is a grant-funded position. Continuation of the position is contingent on grant funding. Employer will not sponsor for employment visa status.
