We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Architectural Designer with advanced Revit expertise to play a key role in our design team. In this position, you will contribute to the design, documentation, and execution of architectural projects from concept through construction. This role requires a blend of creative design ability, strong technical knowledge (especially in BIM using Revit), and collaborative project coordination skills. You will work closely with Project Architects and team leaders to deliver high-quality projects, ensuring that design intent is realized through precise documentation and effective teamwork. The ideal candidate is an experienced professional (8+ years) with a solid background in commercial projects (residential experience is a plus), capable of mentoring junior staff and helping to keep project deliverables on schedule and within scope.

Key Responsibilities

Project Coordination & Management Support

  • Support multiple projects from design concept through construction documentation under the guidance of Project Architects, ensuring continuity and quality at each stage.
  • Assist in developing project schedules, budgets, and work plans , maintaining alignment with client expectations and firm objectives.
  • Coordinate project deliverables with consultants, contractors, and internal team members, facilitating clear communication and smooth information exchange.
  • Communicate with clients and stakeholders as needed (in collaboration with project leaders) to clarify design requirements, report progress, and address concerns promptly.
  • Ensure quality and compliance by helping implement QA/QC processes so that all work meets firm standards, contract obligations, and regulatory requirements (e.g. building codes, ADA).

Architectural Design & Documentation

  • Develop and refine design concepts in collaboration with the team, incorporating innovative and sustainable solutions that meet client needs and aesthetic goals.
  • Produce and oversee detailed construction documents and drawings using Revit , maintaining accuracy, clarity, and consistency across the BIM model and all sheets.
  • Conduct preliminary code research and zoning/ADA analysis , assisting in ensuring that designs comply with all applicable building codes and regulations.
  • Resolve design and technical issues by coordinating with engineering consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders, addressing conflicts or discrepancies during the design and construction phases.
  • Assist in assembling project specifications and manuals , and provide support during the permitting and bidding processes as required for each project.
  • Participate in construction administration , reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs, and updating drawings or Revit models as needed to maintain design integrity through project completion.

Team Coordination & Mentorship

  • Collaborate closely with project team members , fostering a positive and efficient work environment and ensuring alignment of architectural designs with inputs from all disciplines.
  • Mentor junior designers and interns , providing guidance and technical expertise (especially in Revit best practices and drawing production) to develop the team’s overall capabilities.
  • Contribute to design reviews and critiques , offering constructive feedback and insights in accordance with company guidelines to elevate design quality and consistency.
  • Assist in task delegation and workflow management by helping project leaders assign responsibilities and by monitoring the team’s progress, ensuring work is completed efficiently and meets project standards.

Qualifications & Skills

  • 8+ years of experience in architectural design, documentation, and project coordination, with a strong track record on commercial projects (residential experience is a plus).
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating involvement in projects across various building types and phases, from conceptual design through construction documents.
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit (required), with extensive experience producing and coordinating construction documents in a BIM environment.
  • Proficiency in other design and productivity tools, such as SketchUp , Bluebeam , and Adobe Creative Suite ; familiarity with project management software (e.g., Unanet) is beneficial.
  • In-depth knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, ADA requirements, and construction methods , and ability to apply this knowledge to real-world project scenarios.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills , with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with consultants and contractors.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time-management abilities , capable of handling multiple project tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Leadership and mentorship mindset , with enthusiasm for guiding junior staff and contributing to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
